BINGO & CASINO EVENTS
Eastside Memorial FC applies funds received by the Alberta Lottery Fund, through local Bingo and Casino events, to subsidize the cost of registration for the players in our programs. If you are interested in helping to volunteer for yourself and/or others in the community, there are many opportunities available!!
At Eastside Memorial FC, we believe it takes a village to support one another — and our bingo fundraising events are a great way to contribute while earning support for your player’s expenses.
We regularly need volunteers to help at Bingo Palace in roles such as selling bingo cards and acting as a runner (verifying winning cards). In return, participants receive paid vouchers worth up to $80 per session, depending on the day and start time.
These vouchers can be used toward registration fees, equipment costs, or Club apparel like hoodies and tracksuits.
Please note: We understand that some members may have concerns about participating in bingo due to religious beliefs, particularly regarding gambling. It’s important to clarify that volunteering at a bingo event is not the same as gambling — you are not playing the game or taking part in the wagering process. You are simply assisting in an event organized by the licensed facility, and your support helps fundraise for your team. Many of our members have found this distinction helpful in making their decision to participate.
If you have questions or would like to discuss further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We welcome everyone’s involvement in a way that aligns with their values.
Interested in helping out and fundraising at the same time? Let us know — we’d love to have you join the team!
More Information about the benefits provided by Bingo and Casinos
What benefit do Bingo and Casino events provide?
Gaming proceeds are used every year to support the Club’s overall objectives, programs, and services as approved.
This includes the following items:
- Administration costs (website, stationery, advertising, insurance)
- Facility Rentals
- Coaching Certification (training and education)
- League Registration Fees
and more…
Why should I work a Bingo or Casino event?
When individuals work an event, it benefits everyone in the Club. If we didn’t receive gaming proceeds, we would not be able to subsidize the costs of the program and player registration fees – PLUS as a worker you receive a program loyalty voucher and a concession voucher.
Who is eligible for the Vouchers and how can they be used?
The Bingo and Casino Fundraisers are open to ALL EMFC families
Anyone 18+ years of age is eligible to volunteer throughout the year.
At the end of each event, the Bingo/Casino Coordinator will issue each volunteer their program voucher.
Each person must retain their personal copy, which is valued at an amount disclosed by the event.
Individuals who complete a shift at either a Bingo or Casino event will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for your player registration fees, equipment costs & club apparel like hoodies or track suits.
To complete the exchange, Vouchers must be brought to the EMFC Administration during our open office hours.
