John brings a wealth of coaching experience and education to the position of Technical Director at EMFC. Having established links with Eastside Memorial as far back as 2010, John has more recently been leading the Soccability Program with the club. 

John holds his Canada Soccer A Licence, and his UEFA B Licence alongside many other coaching qualifications. His education background is through Sport Science within disability sport, Sport Business and Recreation. John also holds a Masters degree in Applied Sport Psychology. 

With over 35 years experience, as a professional soccer coach, he has worked for many club’s in England including Macclesfield Town and Middlesbrough FC. In Canada he was the Manager of Grassroots Development for Alberta Soccer Association for 10 years.

John cites that he supports the best team in the world, super Leeds United whilst he is a big supporter of coach Marcelo Bielsa. 

Kyla has a lifelong passion for soccer and EMFC. She started playing with the club over 30 years ago and currently coaches and plays with EMFC SWAT women’s team in division 1 of CWSA. 

She has her C License in coaching and leads the Grassroots and Community Programs, as well as, oversees girls development within the club.

This past indoor season she led the U13 girls team to a gold medal in provincials! She loves to use her playing experience to help her coach and believes that the best mixture for success is hard work, intensity and fun! Most importantly, she cheers for Manchester City, her favourite team, other than her EMFC teams of course! Go City Go!!
